| Nicklaus Design's plan capitalizes on the natural beauty of the land to build a course that is visually appealing and challenging. One of the hallmarks of Nicklaus Design is their commitment to maintaining the natural setting as much as possible. The designers allow the surroundings to shape the holes rather than forcing a design that could be created just anywhere. So, at the Westham Golf Club, you will see golf holes that are actually designed to fit the terrain. This is one of the first courses designed with the assistance of a Virtual Tour, which allows the designers to see each golf hole before it gets built. This creates a more natural flow, and ensures no blind shots, unintended forced carries and correct bunker positioning. This will be the most technologically advanced design in this region. The course is currently under construction and will open for play in fall 2009. |
